We at Sports Med Nagpur, specializing in orthopedic, trauma and sports related problems in the knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, wrist, elbow and foot. We treat general trauma and orthopedic problems and offer Arthroscopy, joint replacement and cartilage surgery. Sport injuries usually can affect soft tissue like ligaments, tendon and muscle and sometime Cartilage and bones. Musculoskeletal injuries are the most common sport injuries that require sport medicine treatment. The recurrent sport injuries (about 95%) are minor soft tissue traumas. Sports person involved in contact sports like football, rugby, karate, wrestling, boxing etc are more likely to have sports injuries due to the collision nature of these sports.

In India 2-Wheeler injuries, RTA and other type of accidental Joint Injuries are more common. These injuries are more severe than Sporting injuries due to the force involved and need urgent management.

Our unit provide field and event cover for professional and amateur sporting teams including Cricket, football, hockey, Kabaddi, basketball, Athletics and other Sporting events. We also provide services in relation to preseason medical screening as required by many sporting associations prior to start of a new season. The purpose of this screening is to identify any pre-existing injuries and advise sportsmen on injury prevention and appropriate medical or surgical management.
